Classical Concert for Easter – Santiago de la Ribera – 28TH March 2018

Another of the musical events put on for Easter is a classical concert in Santiago de la Ribera staring the Soprano Charo Alcarz, Mezzosoprano Tatiana Glazcova and the piano player Octavio Roaina who will be performing “Stabat Mater” by Pergolesi. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the amazing work composed by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi in the 18th Century in an intimate concert.

Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710-1736) was born in Italy and became well known for his comic opera in particular “Serva Padrona”.

He was a composer, violinist and organist. He unfortunately died at a young ages, most likely from Tuberculosis as there was no known cure at the time and he was not of strong constitution

It is believed that “Stabat Mater” was one if not the last piece he composed and is widely acclaimed, inspiring other composers to imitate.

The concert will take place in the Principe de Asturias cultural centre in Santiago de la Ribera at 20:30pm. Tickets costs €5 and all proceeds will be donated to a Charity Aidemar.

Aidemar is a non-profit association, made up of families with children who have disabilities and who have been developing activities since 1982.
