Craft Market “El Zacatín” in Bullas since 1690

On Sunday, 2nd June, in the context of the “Mercadillo”, the moment of the constitution of the “Villa de Bullas” will be represented.

As in recent years, the June flea market has a Baroque theme, towards the end of the seventeenth century. After the concession of Privilege of Villazgo to the Villa, on behalf of King Carlos II, in June of 1690, the royal emissaries moved to confirm the desired concession.

 

Visitors who come to the market can see the craftsmen dressed and the streets and squares decorated in the Baroque style. The Old Square will be the stage of the theatrical representation of the “Constitution of the Villa de Bullas”, performed by the Matícate theater company, together with the students of towns Theater School. There will be two performances at 11:30 and 1:00 p.m.

 

This month’s artisan craft show is dedicated to works in costume jewelry. The artisan crafter Ana Gutiérrez, belonging to the Artisans Union of the Region of Murcia will show us how to make Murano pearls, which is the foundation on which she later elaborates her work.

 

At 11.30 am you can enjoy the cultural heritage with the free guided tour “Walkthrough old cellars” (previous reservation required. For bookings please contact the Bullas tourist Office).

There are also this to do for children, there will be workshops and children’s crafts from 11.30 a.m. with music, mosquitoes and street entertainment.

 

El Zacatín, is celebrated from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in its usual surroundings, in the Plaza Vieja and Castillo squares. And as usual, a tourist information point is set up that will promote and publicize the tourist resources offered by the municipality of Bullas and that ensure and a great day out with the family.
