A new way to enjoy classical music and family time, brought to you by OSRM.

The formation of new audiences is the priority objective both for the El Batel Auditorium and for the Symphony Orchestra Foundation of the Region of Murcia. That is why a series of didactic concerts called ‘Conciertos en Familia’ has been programmed.

Aimed at the family audience, each of the programmed concerts offers a different show in which acting, humor and the active participation of the audience which is interspersed with the sounds of the Orchestra, thus introducing the little ones to the world of classical music.

The first concert, under the title of ‘A Christmas Tale’, will be on Saturday, December 9th at 6:30 p.m. Dickens’ novel will be brought to the stage for children and with classical music. The OSRM joins ‘El Hechizo Teatro’ to stage the famous novel adapted for children and with classical music accompanying the plot. The children will learn the story of Mr. Scrooge, a lonely, cold and miserable character who detests Christmas above all things. However, after receiving visits from the Phantom of Christmas Past, the Christmas Present and the Christmas Future, his vision of this beloved time of year could change…

‘Drilo Sinfónico’ will be the second of the concerts on Sunday, January 28th, at noon. For the second time, ‘La Pelula de Drilo’ joins the OSRM to bring classical music to its younger audiences. Of course, without stopping to interpret some of his most famous songs, such as ‘I had a turtle’, ‘Imagine’, ‘The little dog’ or, of course, ‘Drilo, the crocodile’, but this time the animals of the gang will be accompanied by the OSRM. It is a show created exclusively for our Series of Family Concerts and that last October hung the poster of ‘Sold out’ in Murcia.

On Sunday 8th April at noon, the third concert of this cycle, ‘A trip with the family Baquetín’ is scheduled where the youngest of the house will discover the enormous possibilities of percussion instruments. ‘Un viaje con la familia Baquetín’ is a show of the ‘Ensemble Kalimba Percussion’, whose director is Miguel Ángel Alemán, percussionist of the OSRM, and in which contemporary percussion, samba, ragtime, funky and blues are mixed together with everyday situations that allow us to make music with brooms, spoons, stairs … And all with a great dose of humour! For over an hour, thirteen performers will play countless percussion instruments, showing their skills and mixing their rhythms to create an original and energetic show that will make the audience enjoy the music while learning the enormous possibilities of the percussion family.

The tickets for these concerts cost 9 euros, but tickets are sold to attend the three concerts at 20 euros. Tickets and subscriptions can be purchased at the ticket offices of El Batel Auditorium and the Nuevo Teatro Circo, as well as on the web; www.auditorioelbatel.es
