Fiesta del Caldero 2019

The October Festivities of Los Alcazares are celebrated in commemoration of the Municipal Independence, which was achieved on October 13, 1983, when Los Alcazares separated from the municipalities of San Javier and Torre Pacheco.

On October 12 the Day of the Cauldron is celebrated, which constitutes the event par excellence of the Fiestas since it enjoys great popularity and influx of public.

With the first clearings of that day, the alcazareñas beaches are flooded with a festive and marine atmosphere, in which the aromas of the sea are mixed and confused with the tasty effluviums coming from the ‘cauldrons’.

More than a hundred rocks extend along the beaches and make their ‘cauldrons’, a typical dish of the Mar Menor, whose recipe, based on rice and fish, is the most popular in the municipality.

The Al-kazar Prize is awarded at the October Festivities, which represents recognition of the work performed by a person, entity or group, for the benefit of Los Alcázares.

Los Alcázares will celebrate on 12TH October the traditional “Calderos”, a Festival framed in the celebration of the Municipal Autonomy whose act will take place a day later, October 13.

The day of the 12th will be carried out as always by the elaboration of the traditional “cauldrons” in charge of the clubs formed by the neighbours. In addition, a giant cauldron made jointly by a company will accompany the rest of chefs and cooks to offer it to volunteers throughout the region who have helped in cleaning and other tasks during the floods, as well as to companies, institutions and Charities who have collaborated with Los Alcázares and want to restore to the municipality at its most important end.

Attendees will be able to enjoy live music from groups and artists who have offered to be part of this fi les for free and entertain the attendees. The performances will consist of a DJ session, singer Salva Ortega, The Trax, and the Guateque Club Band.

On the 13th, the second and last day of these meetings will be held, in which the Institutional Plenary will take place, which will consist of the delivery of the Al-Kazar Prize, which will honour one to several neighbours for different special reasons, as well as other mentions.

After the aforementioned tributes and the keynote address by Mayor Mario Cervera, the residents attending the event can see the performance of the World Orchestra.
