His show ‘Improvisao’, a tribute to the fans of traditional flamenco, has come to life on the stages from La Unión to New York. The festival will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 10:30 pm in the open air where you can enjoy a truly flamenco billboard. You will feel how the flamenco music becomes part of your being and you will have the opportunity to enjoy a magical night listening to the best flamenco singers of our times.

PEDRO EL GRANAINO

Pedro Heredia Reyes was born in Granada in 1973. From a gypsy family  singing has been a part of his life since the day he was born, his direct relationship with the world of flamenco and what he has experienced among his people have marked the environment in which he is growing as person and maturing as an artist.

At the age of 18 he moved to Seville and years later his professional career he has joined the Farruco family, which has given him the opportunity to be part of his dance company and grow. In this way they have enabled us to take part in learning about this new singer who since 2007 has begun to reap important criticism within the flamenco world.

MIGUEL DE TENA

Born in Ruecas (Badajoz) in 1976, from the age of fourteen he begins to relate to flamenco through “fandango” (a traditional type of dancing). Whilst in Melilla, performing military service he had the opportunity to frequent flamenco environments and to listen to: Antonio Mairena, Menese, Fosforito, Camarón, etc. Once his military obligations finished, he began a pilgrimage for the Extremadura flamenco rocks, including that of Don Benito, which gave him the support of believing in himself and show the world the flamenco art which he carries inside. In 1997 he contacted the guitarist Romero de Badajoz, who instilled in him the secrets of cante (flamenco singing).

He is a serious ´cantaor´, with varied repertoire, with sweet and clear voice, with high registers and an extraordinary power in free ´cantes´.

FARRUQUITO

Was born on August 15th 1982 in Seville. His father, who died in 2001, was the singer Juan Fernández Flores known as “El Moreno” and his mother is the famous “bailaora” (flamenco dancer) Rosario Montoya Manzano or “La Farruca”.

He debuted on Broadway at the young age of five and at 15 he joined his grandfather, “El Farruco” in Carlos Saura’s film ‘Flamenco’.

A pure-bred gypsy, he grew up surrounded by tradition and classical flamenco. Due to this he has internalised the cultural keys of his ethnicity. He is the main heir to his grandfather’s dance; he embodies ways of feeling and expressing flamenco that should be considered Spanish heritage.
